Bitcoin Faces Renewed Downside Risk as Technicals Point to Further Declines
Bitcoin has initiated a fresh decline from the $73,800 zone, struggling to maintain critical support levels. The cryptocurrency is currently trading below $72,000, with technical indicators like the MACD and RSI signaling bearish momentum. Analysts warn of potential further losses, highlighting key support levels at $70,500 and $70,000, while significant resistance lies near $71,500 and $72,000.
Bitcoin Price Under Pressure Amidst Decline
Bitcoin price started a fresh decline from the $73,800 zone, consolidating losses and struggling to stay above the $70,500 support. The cryptocurrency failed to hold above $72,500 and corrected gains, now trading below $72,000 and its 100 hourly simple moving average. A connecting bearish trend line is forming with resistance at $71,450 on the hourly BTC/USD chart, suggesting potential for extended losses if the price remains below $71,500 and $72,000.
After forming a top near $73,800, Bitcoin dipped below critical levels including $72,500, $71,500, and $71,200, reaching a low of $70,517. It continues to consolidate losses below the 23.6% Fib retracement level from its recent swing high. While a recovery attempt could occur if the price stabilizes above $70,500, immediate resistance lies around $71,500 and $72,000. A decisive close above $72,000 could lead to further gains towards $72,500, $73,200, and potentially $74,000.
Conversely, if Bitcoin fails to overcome the $72,000 resistance, a renewed decline is anticipated. Immediate support is found near $70,800, with major support at $70,500. Further losses could push the price towards the $70,000 zone and potentially $69,200. The primary support level is now at $68,800, below which BTC may face significant challenges in recovery. Technical indicators reinforce this bearish outlook, with the Hourly MACD showing increasing bearish momentum and the Hourly RSI below the 50 level, indicating strong selling pressure.
