A Russian diplomat has confirmed that the 11-member BRICS bloc is preparing for further expansion in 2026, indicating broad support for the move as nobody opposes it.

The BRICS bloc, an intergovernmental organization comprising 11 member states, is set to undergo further expansion in 2026. This development was confirmed by the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Sherpa, who stated that there is no opposition to this forthcoming enlargement. The group's current members include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
