Hacker Launders Stolen Ethereum from DeFi Exploit; Romance Scammers Target Traditional Bank Accounts

A hacker has begun laundering approximately $6.7 million in stolen digital assets, including hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Ethereum (ETH), following an exploit of the liquidity provider TrustedVolumes, according to cybersecurity firm PeckShield. Separately, a romance fraud scheme was reported to have siphoned over $1.3 million from a city government's traditional bank account through numerous illicit transactions, with no direct involvement of cryptocurrencies.
